7 Years on the 7th Day of the 7th Month

Lucky 7's?!

I think not.

No luck involved in this.

Just years of love, tears, laughter, and struggle. A little bit of everything for a whole lot of love.

Here's to starting another year with you.

To waking up beside you every morning.

To sharing laughs and inside jokes.

To slow dancing to songs we softly sing to each other.

To getting into arguments late at night knowing full well that everything will be ok at the end of it.

To calling each other nicknames, even when I don't always appreciate it.

To all the good times and the bad.

I'll love you forever.

Where to go for Food & Fun on this Beautiful Day in the Bay

Today is shaping up to be a beautiful day here in the Bay Area! If you don't have plans, you should stop by booth #215 at the Treasure Island Flea Market to support Melvin and our friends, Kelly and George, who so kindly shared a booth with us for our first experience as vendors!

There will be food and fun, so come on by! 😊

Treasure Island Flea Market this weekend! Come through and say hi!

Melvin and I will be at the Treasure Island Flea Market this weekend, not as visitors, but as vendors! For the first time ever, Melvin will be selling prints of his car drawings, and we are both very excited for this experience. So, if you're not busy this weekend, and you're in the Bay Area, we'd love your support!

Bright Side Jessica and the Club W Subscription

Man, oh, man. I'm excited about June's subscription box. This month, I subscribed to Club W, which is a monthly wine subscription that you can personalize to your preferred palate.

What you get:

3 Bottles of Wine a month starting at $39

As with my previous subscription box encounters, ClubW has you fill in a Palate Profile about flavored you like. 6 questions. Easy to understand. You don't have to be a sommelier to answer them. Then, they recommend a few options from their curated selection that you can — but don't have to — move forward with for your final purchase.

Now, given that this was my first time subscribing to them, I should have gone with their recommendations to see how it matched up to my profile, BUT I didn't think about that sooo if one of you guys try it out, let me know how that works out for you. Haha.

I had a solid first impression with the box. It felt strong, and sturdy, though I did feel the need to tape it up again before transporting it home.

Once you open the box, you're greeted with a Club W pamphlet that welcomes you to the club and provides you with details on how you can refine your Palate Profile so their recommendations can only get better.

Then comes the good stuff...

As I mentioned earlier, I didn't choose to buy the wine they recommended based off my palate. Instead, I went rogue and selected $13 wines based off of the flavors and scents described on the website. Normally, I tend to lean towards white wines (Moscato, specifically, which may not even really count), but I tried to keep an open mind and pick at least one red and one white. In the end, I chose all different colors anyway since I liked the variety.

So, let me introduce you to the wines...

2015 Sauvetage Rosé

2015 pacificana® zinfandel

2015 passarola vinho branco

Now here is the awesome part...

Behind that booklet, were notecards of each of the wines I received with even more details to guide me in this wine journey.

Each card has a picture of the wine, its brief history, a description of the flavor and body, and details on how it should be served, what it smells like, and what it pairs with – basically, super useful information for someone like me who has no clue about anything wine-related. :) If that's not "winning", I don't know what is.

It gets better, too...

Each card has a recipe on the back for a meal that you can make that pairs well with that particular wine!

Now, I'm not a person who cooks much, if at all, BUT, it does give me some incentive.

So there you have it folks, a brief rundown on my Club W subscription! The next experiment would be actually tasting the wine, though, I wouldn't necessarily trust my opinion on that since I really don't know anything about wine. However, if you like to experiment, I'd definitely recommend giving Club W a try.

For a $13 credit to use towards your order, use my referral link below if you'd like to give Club W a try! That's basically one free bottle! Take advantage!
